Barmer : A video from Barmer district of Rajasthan is going viral on social media. This video is from Mahavir Nagar area of the city late at night where a drunk youth and his girlfriend created a ruckus in the middle of the road. Also, in an attempt to kill a young man, he tried to crush him with a Bolero camper vehicle. Although the youth survived, the accused rammed the vehicle onto another bike parked nearby, due to which two motorcycles parked there were damaged.
The accused was taken into custody and brought to the police station.
Seeing the matter escalating, people informed the police about this incident that happened on the middle of the road. On which Kotwali police station and Barmer DSP Ramesh Kumar Sharma reached the spot and admitted the injured youth to the government hospital for treatment. Also, the accused who was driving the car was taken into custody and his car was confiscated. In the same case he was brought to the police station for questioning.
The accused is a habitual criminal, has many cases registered in the past
Police interrogation revealed that the person who ran the car over the youth has been identified as accused Devaram, he is a habitual criminal. Many cases including blackmailing and assault have already been registered against him. Late night of the incident (Friday), accused Devaram had come to a dhaba near Mahavir Nagar with his girlfriend. During this time, he had an altercation with Manoj, a young man resident of Bhiyar in Shiv area, over some issue. After this, the accused and his female friend started beating Manoj. The matter did not end here. To take revenge, the accused Devaram also tried to run the car over the young man, however the young man escaped. Two videos of this incident are going viral. In a video, the woman and accused Devaram are beating the youth. In the second video, accused Devaram is trying to run over a young man with a car.
Police took the accused into custody
After getting information about the incident, Kotwali police station and Barmer DSP Ramesh Kumar Sharma reached the spot and tried to remove the vehicle but the bike was stuck under the vehicle, hence a crane was called and the vehicle was taken to the police station and the accused was taken into custody. The entire matter is being investigated.
