Heritage Nagar Nigam chair stuck in internal conflict, Mayor in trouble

Jaipur : Many Congress councilors in Heritage Municipal Corporation are against their mayor Munesh Gurjar. BJP councilors have also put forward their views at the level of organization and government to remove the mayor. The truth is that BJP lacks a face for the post of mayor. Apart from this, the internal tussle in BJP and the fear of the emergence of a new leader is also acting as a lifeline for Munesh Gurjar. At the same time, candidates and MLAs who have contested assembly elections from BJP are often seen lobbying for the Congress mayor at the level of organization and government. On Tuesday, BJP councilors will meet city president Raghav Sharma at 1 pm. The councilors admitted in a hushed voice that if there is no hearing at the organization and government level, then they will go to Delhi and complain to the organization.

The mayor also changed his tactics

Even though the mayor is from Congress, she is seen in programs with BJP MLAs and candidates who have contested the assembly elections. She has distanced herself from Congress MLAs. In the assembly elections, the Jaipur mayor worked for the BJP instead of the Congress in the Civil Lines area. In December, when Munesh took over the mayor’s chair after getting relief from the court, many BJP councilors also reached to congratulate her.

Prosecution sanction file pending

The allegations in the corruption case have been proven in the ACB investigation. The prosecution sanction file for the arrest of the mayor is pending with the government for about three months. Along with the BJP, Congress councillors are also active to get the government to grant prosecution sanction. A delegation of Congress councillors met BJP state president CP Joshi last month and demanded the removal of the mayor.

The pain of BJP councillors

-A councillor from Hawamahal assembly constituency even said that our MLAs and candidates who have contested the assembly elections support the mayor. That is why no one has ever lobbied openly till date.

-Councillor from Civil Lines Vidhansabha area said that the mayor did not do any work earlier. Even now no work is being done. The MLA is continuously sharing the stage with the mayor.

-Councillor from Kishanpol assembly constituency says that the party has raised the issue with the state leadership and at the government level, but only assurances are being received from everywhere.

-A BJP councillor from Adarsh Nagar says that all the work that needs to be done and not done for the MLA and the party candidates who contested the assembly elections is being done.
