New Delhi, November 19 (IANS). Indian Aviation Services has created a record of flying more than 5 lakh domestic passengers in a day.
This information was given by Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu through a post on social media platform X.
He wrote in the letter, “On November 17, 2024, Indian aviation achieved a historic feat when 5,05,412 domestic passengers flew in a single day, crossing the remarkable 5-lakh passenger threshold. “This reflects the rapid growth of the sector and the growing confidence of Indians in the accessibility and reliability of air travel.”
He further wrote, “This success lies in the visionary leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose commitment to empowering every citizen has been instrumental in transforming Indian aviation. Driven by the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’, aviation has seen transformative policies including the Regional Connectivity Scheme (UDAN), modernization of airports and adoption of digital technologies, thereby providing connectivity to millions of people. “Flying has become a reality.”
He said, “The Ministry of Civil Aviation, under my leadership, is dedicated to ease of flying – ensuring that air travel is affordable, seamless and accessible to all. This achievement highlights the collective efforts of all aviation stakeholders, whose commitment to excellence I deeply appreciate. Celebrating this achievement, we continue to work to improve connectivity, enhance passenger experience and expand infrastructure to meet the aspirations of every Indian. This is not only a milestone, but a step towards making India a global aviation leader.”
