Hindu Sena files petition in court claiming Ajmer Dargah is a Shiva temple

Ajmer : A court in Rajasthan has given a major verdict on a petition declaring the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti as a temple. On Wednesday, the court rejected the petition demanding declaring this dargah as Lord Shri Sankatmochan Mahadev Temple. The court said that this matter does not come under its jurisdiction. This petition was filed by Hindu Sena President Vishnu Gupta. His claim was that the Dargah is built on the ruins of a temple, hence it should be declared as Lord Shri Sankatmochan Mahadev Temple. What was the claim regarding Ajmer Sharif Dargah?

Gupta had also demanded in the petition that the Act related to the operation of the Dargah should be repealed, Hindus should be given the right to worship there and ASI should be directed to conduct a scientific survey of the place. Gupta’s lawyer Shashiranjan told that he has done research for two years. According to him, earlier there was a Shiva temple there which was demolished by Muslim invaders and then a Dargah was built there.
