Mumbai, December 9 (IANS). Shiv Sena MLA Dilip Lande on Monday made a sharp rebuke to Jammu and Kashmir leader Iltija Mufti’s definition of Hindutva. Mufti had said that Hindutva was a “disease”. Even after the political uproar over this statement, he made it clear that he stood by his statement.
Dilip Lande told IANS, “Hindutva is in our blood and we live and die for it. There is no need to pay attention to who says what. We are proud that we are Hindus and we say it with pride.” Hindutva is a part of our existence and we will always promote it.”
Expressing concern over the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh, he said that atrocities on Hindus are continuously increasing in Bangladesh. The Foreign Secretary of India is going to visit Bangladesh, we hope that this visit will bring some change and the condition of Hindus living in Bangladesh will improve. This issue is extremely important not only for India but also for the world Hindu society.
In a program of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Allahabad High Court Judge Shekhar Kumar Yadav had said that ‘this is India, the country will run according to the will of the majority’. Taking the issue of Ram Temple as an example, he had said that no one had imagined the construction of Ram Temple, but today it is in front of us.
Responding to this, Lande said that this is democracy and in democracy the country is run by majority. The majority government in our country determines the direction of the country.
On the question of making Belgaum a Union Territory, Dilip Lande said that our party’s stand is clear. Marathi people of Belgaum should get justice. The Maharashtra government is working on this issue and we will ensure that the rights of the Marathi community there are protected. Although he did not comment directly on making Belgaum a Union Territory, he did say that the most important thing for him is that Marathi people get justice.
