Nagaur : China clay, a mineral material coming out in large quantities in Merta subdivision area of Nagaur district, is making the country and abroad shine, but our own courtyard is untouched by it. There are 150 mines of China Clay here and the annual turnover is around Rs 50 crores. Revenue of crores of rupees is also going into the government’s account, but due to lack of industry to utilize it at the local level, it is unable to provide employment to the youth of the area. It is not being proved. Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit is proposed in the month of December. In this, the government should also prepare a scheme and invite those who invest in China clay produced in Nagaur district. China clay coming from Merta region is being used to make courtyard tiles and toys in the neighboring states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal as well as in Nepal and Bangladesh. In such a situation, there is always demand for China clay in tiles factories. As a result, China clay business continues every season in major villages including Indavad of Merta.

DMFT Under this, there is a need for asphalted roads in these mining areas. Due to lack of roads, there is difficulty in movement of vehicles during rains. Also, industry should be established in Merta area so that it can be utilized and the youth here can get employment. At present three thousand laborers are said to be working in the mines. China clay is traded in abundance in the Merta area, but facilities are lacking here. There is a need to get development done by the District Mineral Foundation Trust. China clay mines are still filled with water. The extra cost of removing it will increase. The government should look into this.
Goten Under the Mining Department, China clay is traded in Indavad, Lunias, Lambajatan, Mokalpur, Basni-Kachhawa, Badgaon, Shekhasani, Phalki villages of Merta subdivision. Among these, maximum mining takes place in Indavad and Lunias. There are around 150 mines of China Clay in Merta area. Out of which 40 mines are operated on a large scale. China clay is also used for making porcelain, paper filling, cosmetic products, glass making, pesticides, dust-control, fog removal.
Annual revenue of more than 8 crores
in The mines have an annual business turnover of around Rs 50 crore. Not only this, China clay entrepreneurs are also giving revenue of more than Rs 8 crore to the mining department. Despite this there is lack of facilities here.
