Bundi : Incidents of snakes and pythons coming out during rainy season are common, but in Kota and Bundi districts of Rajasthan, there is fear of crocodiles coming out of Chambal river. These crocodiles are now reaching homes. One such scary incident came to light from Keshavrayapatan area of Bundi district on Sunday night. A 6 feet long crocodile entered a house at around 2 o’clock in the night. What happened after that woke hundreds of people from their sleep at midnight.
The forest department told why crocodiles are entering houses
The rescue team of the forest department, which reached the spot, said that this crocodile had entered the house of a person living in Teerath village. There is a pond outside the village which overflowed due to rain. There are no fishes in the pond, so crocodiles come out in search of food. This is why they enter the house. Teerath woke up at 2 o’clock in the night to drink water and when he switched on the light, he saw a crocodile sitting there with its mouth open. He lost his senses and did not even scream. Later, he somehow composed himself and woke up other members of the family. Due to the screams that followed, the whole neighborhood gathered there.
Crocodiles prey on goats and chickens
Forest department employee Sudarshan said that crocodiles often come to the outskirts of the village in search of food. But it has never happened that crocodiles came so deep into the village and entered people’s houses. They often prey on goats and chickens. This time, due to good rains in Kota and Bundi, the rivers and ponds are overflowing. Such cases are often reported in Kota. But now such incidents are increasing in Bundi district near Kota as well. It took two hours to rescue the crocodile. After this, it was released in the pond.
