Udaipur : 68-year-old Mansukh Devi, living in the world’s second most beautiful city Udaipur, her two sons Manish Upadhyay and Purushottam Upadhyay left for Ajmer to go to their sister’s house this morning. The whole family was happy. Some function was going to be held at the sister’s place, but before reaching there, both the brothers, the elder brother’s wife and the mother, all four of them met such a painful death that no one can even imagine. While sitting in a car worth Rs 24 lakh, their bodies melted due to acid, even the bones were shattered. When the rescue team members reached to save them, their hands also got burnt. The incident happened today in Charbhuja police station circle area of Rajasamand district.
When a truck full of 20 thousand liters of acid overturned in Rajsamand
Police said that the car was passing through Mansingh ka Guda area on the Gomti four lane of Rajsamand. The younger brother was driving the car, the elder brother was sitting in the front and the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law were sitting in the back seat. Meanwhile, a tanker full of acid moving ahead of the car collided with a truck coming from the front and this tanker filled with about 20000 liters of acid overturned on the car.
The bodies of all four were badly burnt by acid
Acid started filling up in the car. People in the car started burning alive. After some time, the diesel tank also started leaking. People were scared of an explosion, so no one went near. Later, police officers arrived and removed the tanker with the help of a crane. But by then, more than half of the bodies of all four had been burnt.
Sister was celebrating, family was leaving from Udaipur
Rescue team member Hariram said that the tanker was filled with acid. It was grade three, meaning it was so flammable that if it got a temperature of around 50 degrees, it would explode and catch fire, but it fell directly on the people and killed whoever it fell on. The sister was waiting for her mother and two brothers in Beawar, Ajmer, but the sister received the news of the death of all four. All the family members are in Rajsamand. Police said that the Upadhyay family used to live in Rajsamand earlier, but now has shifted to Udaipur. There is chaos in the family after this incident.
