After the swearing in of the new government in Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s government took some important decisions. Under this, there was also talk of increase in the funds received by women under the state government’s Mani Honor Scheme. He had said that women will get Rs 2,500.

The Government of Jharkhand launched the Meiyaan Samman Yojana from the month of August. Under this scheme, 12 thousand rupees are to be provided to women from 21 to 50 years of age in 12 installments. The government had started the process of putting one thousand rupees in women’s bank accounts on the 15th of every month from September to 15th of every month.

The Department of Women Child Development and Social Security had said that there was tremendous enthusiasm among the women of the state regarding the Maniyan Samman Yojana. The department received 43 lakh applications within only two weeks of the introduction of the application for this scheme.
