Jaipur : Monsoon rains have set a record this time in Rajasthan. While around 435 mm of rain falls between 1 June and 30 September, this time more than 550 mm of rain has fallen between 1 June and 31 August. According to the Meteorological Department, the sporadic effect of monsoon rains can be seen till the second week of September. After this, the weather is expected to remain dry. According to the Jaipur Center of the Meteorological Department (IMD), a depression system has formed in the Bay of Bengal adjoining Andhra Pradesh and Southern Odisha today. It is expected to move further. Due to the effect of this system, there will be an increase in rain activities in the districts of eastern Rajasthan. Heavy rain activities will be seen in some districts of eastern Rajasthan for the next one week.

Heavy rain alert in Jodhpur-Bikaner division today

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains may occur at some places in Jodhpur, Bikaner division of western Rajasthan on 2-3 September. It is worth noting that Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions have received more than average rainfall this season. In Bikaner division, Churu has received the highest rainfall of more than 468 mm and in Jodhpur division, Sirohi has received the highest rainfall of more than 679 mm. However, this is still less than the average monsoon rainfall in Sirohi.

District wise rain alert till September 2

According to the Meteorological Department, on September 2, there is a possibility of light rain with thunder and lightning in Ajmer, Alwar, Bhilwara, Dausa, Dholpur, Dungarpur, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Rajsamand, Sirohi, Tonk, Udaipur, Barmer, Churu, Jalore, Jodhpur, Nagaur, Pali.

Heavy rain alert in these districts

According to the Jaipur centre of the Meteorological Department, a yellow alert has been issued in Banswara, Baran, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Jhalawar, Karauli, Kota, Pratapgarh and Sawai Madhopur districts. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning along with heavy rains in these districts.
