Kajari Teej was looted and brought to Bundi
There is an interesting incident behind the Teej fair in Bundi. In the state, Bundi’s Gothda courtier Balwant Singh looted and brought Kajli Teej. It is said that once on the request of a friend of the court, he talked about a grand Teej procession in Jaipur and said why not organize something like this in Bundi as well. Balwant Singh liked this idea and decided to bring the same Teej of Jaipur. When the Teej procession was leaving from Jaipur, Balwant Singh attacked and looted Teej and brought it to Bundi. Since then, Kajli Teej festival is being celebrated in Bundi with many rituals and the same splendor remains till date. Now tomorrow also the Teej procession will be taken out and then the fair will start in which many programs will be organized.
