Jhunjhunu : After waiting for twenty days, when 2014 batch IAS officer Ashish Modi did not leave his current post and take over as Churu Collector, the government finally had to appoint young IAS Abhishek Surana here. Discussions started in political and administrative circles as to what was the reason that the government had to keep IAS Ashish Modi as Director of Secondary Education Board Bikaner. Although it is the government’s discretion, but this U-turn of the government has now become a topic of discussion. The opposition has also started cornering the government on this issue.

Many reasons are being cited for cancellation of transfer

Let us tell you that in the transfer list of 22 IAS officers released on 5th September, IAS Ashish Modi was given the responsibility of Churu Collector. Due to Ashish Modi not joining, Additional Collector Uttam Singh Shekhawat held the post of Churu Collector as acting for about 19-20 days. All eyes are on when Ashish Modi will join. Sources say that Ashish Modi was not interested in working in the new post. Apart from this, many other reasons are also being given due to which IAS Ashish Modi could not join this post.

Know who is IAS Abhishek Surana

It is noteworthy that Churu city has got its new collector 20 days back. Abhishek Surana, a young IAS officer of 2018 batch, has been appointed as the collector of Churu. Abhishek Surana, who is said to be a resident of Bhilwara in Rajasthan, was earlier holding the post of commissioner in the Heritage Municipal Corporation, Jaipur.

Many officers did not join

It is noteworthy that many lists released by Bhajan Lal government on 5 September are in the news. The reason for this is that many of the IAS and RAS officers included in this list have not joined. Let us tell you that 108 IAS and 386 RAS officers were transferred. Among them, two IAS and about seven dozen RAS officers have still not taken up their new charge. After this, Bhajan Lal government has again released the transfer list of administrative officers on 22 and 23 September, in which major changes have been made.
