Chandigarh, November 27 (IANS). The party has blamed the defeat of Congress in Haryana and Maharashtra assembly elections on EVMs. Haryana BJP MLA Laxman Yadav on Wednesday said Congress has no excuse, hence it blames EVMs for the defeat.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has also raised questions on EVMs and has demanded to abolish EVMs and conduct elections through ballot paper. However, the petition filed against EVM has been rejected by the Supreme Court.
When BJP MLA from Haryana Laxman Yadav was asked to react on this, he said, “Now Congress has nothing left. When Congress wins, EVMs are fine, when Congress loses, EVMs are blamed. There is neither any issue nor any other excuse. And if they say something to the public then they get even more angry. So they directly blame EVMs and try to keep their image clean.”
On being included in the Subject Committee formed by the Haryana Assembly Speaker, Laxman Yadav has said that the Assembly Speaker has constituted new committees, often called mini assemblies, where departmental committees are formed. A total of 13 committees have been formed, and the Chairman has held a meeting with all the committee chairpersons to discuss the effectiveness and results of the assigned tasks. I have a subject committee under which four departments including PWD, electricity and public health come. I thank the speaker that he has considered me worthy of this.
