Jaipur : Under Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS), there is a provision to add one of the parents or in-laws of government employees to the scheme. The addition of mother-in-law and father-in-law was announced in this year’s budget, after which the Finance Department had also issued its orders. However, according to government employees, they have not yet received its benefits.
As per RGHS rules, if both the employees are state employees, then deduction will be made from the salary of both. In return, the parents of both the employees will be treated free of cost at RGHS. But the employees say that their parents are not being provided this facility.
Rajasthan government says that both the parents should be linked in the same Janadhar card, but it is not possible to get the names of the parents of both the employees linked in the same Janadhar card. There are thousands of such employee couples in the Rajasthan government who have been deprived of this facility for the last four years, while their salaries are being deducted every month. The state government is collecting crores of rupees from them in the name of this scheme, but they are not getting the facilities.
In this year’s budget, it was announced that mother-in-law and father-in-law would also be treated in RGHS and the Finance Department had issued orders for the same on September 20. But till now the officials associated with RGHS scheme have not followed this order. Government employee Pankaj Mittal says that on contacting the department, it is told that the software has not been updated, hence this facility has not been implemented.
