Ignoring essential facilities in Jodhpur court premises will not be tolerated.

Jodhpur : Jodhpur Rajasthan High Court has taken a strong stance on the lack of basic facilities and security measures in the district courts of the state. Reprimanding the state government for ignoring the orders of the Chief Justice and the High Court, the court made it clear that ignoring essential facilities in the court premises will not be tolerated. The next hearing of the case will be on December 11. The division bench of Justice Shri Chandrashekhar and Justice Madan Gopal Vyas, while hearing various PILs, said that the affidavits submitted by the state government are unsatisfactory. In these, no concrete plan has been given regarding the creation of basic facilities like advocate chamber, parking, canteen, drinking water, eco-friendly area, e-Mitra center, police post and crèche in the court premises. The division bench also observed that no attention has been paid to necessary security arrangements such as waiting rooms for witnesses, facilities for sensitive witnesses, CCTV cameras, metal detectors and first aid stations. Whereas the Supreme Court had given instructions to make these facilities mandatory in the district courts.

The opinion of the Chief Justice will be supreme

The bench made it clear that the opinion of the Chief Justice will be paramount regarding the requirements of the district courts and the High Court. Therefore, the decision of the Chief Justice should be followed in matters such as allotment of land for construction of court buildings. The petitioners have been instructed to inspect the requirements in other districts also and provide complete information.
