Immense support from public in Anushaktinagar, aim is to take Hindus and Muslims together: Fahad Ahmed

Mumbai, November 17 (IANS). Nationalist Congress Party (SP) candidate Fahad Ahmed from Anushaktinagar area of Mumbai had a special conversation with news agency IANS on Sunday. He expressed his views on upcoming election strategies and many socio-political issues. He claimed that he is getting immense support from the public in the area.

Fahad Ahmed told that many people are associated with him. It feels great to see people’s support. It motivates me more. This trust of the public is my responsibility and I will work hard to live up to this trust. The blessings of mosques, dargahs and temples are with me, and I will do my best to live up to their expectations.

On Congress leader Nitin Raut’s claim that he was not made a minister because he chanted “Jai Bhim”, Fahad Ahmed said that those who do not respect Babasaheb Ambedkar should change their thinking. We cannot send anyone out of the country because we do not run tours and travels as the BJP does. Babasaheb gave us the Constitution and very few people know that the idea of Reserve Bank of India was also Babasaheb’s. I say again “Jai Bhim”.

A picture of Fahad Ahmed and Maulana Sajid Nomani went viral on social media, after which many discussions started regarding this meeting. On this he said, “I am not a religious leader, I am a leader. My job is to take both the Hindu and Muslim communities together. I have taken blessings from many pundits during my political journey. You cannot even imagine. Whether I go to Buddha Vihar, Hanuman temple or go to the pandal during Navratri, my aim has always been to connect the society.”

He further said that if “Maulana Sahib is supporting us”, what difference does it make? We have to take everyone together, and this is the direction of our politics.

On the statement given by Maulana Sajid Nomani on banning hookah-water, Fahad Ahmed said that when he meets people of Hindu community, people tell him that you should work for the public. When I met Maulana Saheb, he also said that we should work for the people. This is a positive thing, and I will work in this direction.
