Chittorgarh News Desk: Animal farmers in the district will no longer have to mortgage their property for interest free loans. Because the state government has changed the eligibility conditions of Gopal Credit Scheme. Now, as there is no requirement of mortgaging immovable property to avail interest free loan under the scheme, the scope of beneficiaries is increasing manifold. Under the scheme, about one thousand farmers of the district will be benefited. Animal husbandry will be promoted by getting an interest-free loan of Rs 1 lakh. Eligible farmers will be able to prepare the estimate of the cost of the work to be done under the scheme at their own level. Earlier, due to complexities in the eligibility conditions in the guidelines issued by the Cooperative Department, only nominal applications were being received under the scheme. Under the Cooperative Gopal Credit Card Scheme, there is a plan to provide interest free loan of Rs 150 crore to five lakh cowherds of the state on the lines of Kisan Credit Card through cooperative banks.
Made changes to these terms
To be eligible for the scheme, payment for membership of cooperative dairy and sale of milk should be in the account of the concerned, minimum CIBIL score should be 600, condition of giving interest free loan only after the recommendation of the secretary of the dairy cooperative society including the district. Many cattle rearers in the state were left out of the scope of the scheme despite their eligibility. According to the recently released new guidelines, cow protection families living in rural areas will be considered eligible for the scheme for purchase of equipment related to cow protection, sheds, games, milk, fodder, etc. for cow herders. In this, the requirement of CIBIL score has been removed. The branch of the Central Cooperative Bank will be able to recommend loan approval based on the creditworthiness of the applicant and the guarantor. The loan can be repaid in monthly installments.
