Jaipur : The state government has taken a big step towards preventing misuse and wastage of drinking water in Rajasthan. For this, Secretary of Water Supply Department Dr. Samit Sharma has issued a circular under the provisions of Rajasthan Water Supply and Sewerage Act-1979. In which it will be illegal to use drinking water for washing car, leakage in pipeline in the house, irrigating garden, house construction work or other commercial activities. A fine of 1 thousand rupees can be imposed by the court. From Monday, the provisions of the circular will be valid in the entire state and the water supply engineer will take action if misuse of water is found as per the provisions of the circular.
Jaldaya Secretary Dr. Samit Sharma said that this exercise to prevent misuse of drinking water will be done under the provisions of Rajasthan Water Supply and Sewerage Act-1979. If there is misuse of drinking water in any area, the field engineer will take photos, make videos and then present the evidence related to misuse of water in the court under the provisions of the Act. If misuse of water by the concerned person is proved in the court, a fine will be imposed at the court level. If a person misuses drinking water for the second time, then an additional fine of Rs 50 per day will be imposed on him along with the fine.

Private or rented car wash
For irrigation and cultivation of the garden
in building a house
Swimming pools, public fountains
Restaurants, hotels, hostels and residential clubs
To wet the soil of the path in front of the house
(In both cases one has to go to court for penalty)
Even if you do this the connection will be disconnected
Taking illegal connection from water line
Preventing water supply workers from inspecting
Damaging the water meter
Not paying the water bill for a long time
