Ajmer : For the first time, a lump weighing 12 kg has been removed from the stomach of a patient in the Oncology Department (Cancer Department) of JLN Hospital, Ajmer. The lump was caused by a testicle in the patient’s stomach. According to Dr. Arpit Jain, the cancer surgeon who performed the operation, if the operation was delayed even by 4-5 days, there was a danger of the patient’s life. The patient is now healthy. He was discharged on Thursday. Dr. Arpit Jain told that a 32-year-old farmer resident of Salod village near Nasirabad had developed a lump of testicular cancer in his stomach. On November 28, he was admitted to JLN Hospital. The operation was performed on 30 November. Medical College Principal Dr. Anil Samaria and Hospital Superintendent Dr. Arvind Khare said that the patient’s life has been saved after the operation that lasted for about 5 hours.
The scrotum remained in the stomach, swollen due to temperature.
According to Dr. Arpit Jain, when a child is born, his testicles are outside. In some cases these testicles remain inside. Same thing happened in this case also. One testicle was left inside, which the parents did not pay attention to. As age increased, the testicle started swelling due to the temperature inside the abdomen. The situation became such that it became a cancerous lump and gradually started damaging his other organs as well. The patient was earlier admitted to a private hospital in Ajmer. From there there were preparations to take him to Jaipur. But when the doctors of JLN Hospital came to know about it, they were asked to see him here and the operation was done here.
Had the operation been postponed for 4-5 days, I could have lost my life.
Dr. Jain told that the cancerous lump and toxic fluid in the stomach were leading to failure of other organs of the body. Due to this the kidneys also started getting damaged. There was continuous blood loss. The blood group of the patient is also B negative which falls in the rare category. Four units of blood were obtained from the blood bank. The patient’s chances of survival were negligible. But took this challenge. A 12 kg lump and toxic fluid from the stomach has been sent for pathology examination. After its investigation, the further condition of the patient can be known. If there is a need for more, work will be done in that direction. Dr. Sandeep Kushniya, Dr. Hitesh Sharma and anesthesia department heads Dr. Veena Mathur and Dr. Kuldeep were also included in the team that performed the operation.
