Bharatpur : A major case of cow smuggling was caught due to the promptness of QRT (Quick Reaction Team) and Gau Seva Dal on Saturday night in Gahanauli police station area of ​​Bharatpur district. The team, acting on a tip-off, stopped a container which was filled with 27 cows. During the incident, the smugglers also fired at the police team, in response to which the QRT team fired four rounds from the gas gun. After this the smugglers were able to escape taking advantage of the darkness. However, the police recovered the cows safely and they were rescued in the local cow shed.

Surgyan Singh Meena, in-charge of the QRT team, said that at around 2 o’clock in the night, he had received information from an informer that cow smugglers were stuffing cows in a container in Bar Peepal area of ​​Gahanauli police station area. As soon as the information was received, the QRT team immediately reached there. As soon as the smugglers saw the team, they fired one round. In retaliation, the team fired four rounds using gas guns. After this the smugglers fled leaving the container on the spot.

Gau Seva Dal member Sonu said that he had received information from someone that some smugglers in Bharatpur were filling cow progeny in containers. As soon as the information was received, he informed the QRT team and along with the team carried out this operation.
