In Churu, a woman was duped of Rs 76 thousand on the pretext of work from home, police recovered Rs 62 thousand.

Churu News Desk: With changing times, the methods of crime are also changing. These days, along with less educated people, educated people are also falling prey to cyber fraudsters. A similar case has come to light from Churu district, where a married woman preparing for competitive exams was duped of Rs 75 thousand on the pretext of earning money in the name of work from home.

The woman has studied M.Sc.

30 year old Bintu Balara is MSc, B.Ed pass. She is married to Sandeep, a resident of Gindi Patta. Presently she is preparing to become a teacher in her class in Binasar. Due to unemployment, when she received a WhatsApp message about a work from home job, she too fell in to the tempting talks of the thugs. The result was that she became a victim of fraud. Cyber ​​​​thugs withdrew Rs 76 thousand from the woman’s account by sending a link in the name of work from home.

Police got the money back

The woman was cheated on August 15, about which she came to know the next day. After this the woman complained on cyber helpline number 1930 and registered a case at Sadar police station. On the orders of the court, Sadar police deposited Rs 62 thousand out of the amount defrauded from the woman in her account.

Got refund after 4 months

According to SHO Balwant Ram, the woman contacted the messager on Telegram at his request. Then the accused sent a link and asked him to join. As soon as he clicked on this link, Rs 76089 was deducted from his account. Then the woman lodged a complaint on 16 August. After that, constables Manoj Kumar and Sandeep Kumar, working on the cyber portal of the police station, recovered Rs 62 thousand while investigating and deposited it back in the woman’s account after 4 months.
