Jaipur : In Rajasthan, many new districts were created in the previous Gehlot government before the assembly elections 2023. The committee of Bhajanlal government is now investigating the 17 districts created in the Gehlot government. At the same time, with the investigation of the committee, the politics of abolishing the new districts had started. Now that the committee has submitted its first report, discussions have started on it. Although no decision has been taken in the first meeting, the committee has been asked to make some more reports. But after the meeting, the politics of abolishing the districts has intensified between the ruling party and the opposition.
Rajasthan BJP state president Madan Rathore had recently given a statement that people are opposing the creation of new districts, the public is also not happy. There are 6-7 districts which will be abolished. The committee has studied it. There are many districts whose demand is justified, those districts will remain, we will abolish the rest of the districts. Now after this, a statement has come from UDH Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra.
Out of 17 districts, only 5-6 districts meet the criteria
Amid the ongoing politics over the 17 districts created during the previous Gehlot government in Rajasthan, a major statement has come from UDH Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra. He has said that all the districts have been created in a hurry. Tehsil level areas have also been declared as districts. Kharra has said that out of the 17 districts created during the Gehlot government, only five or six meet the criteria. The government should abolish the rest of the districts and keep these districts as they are.
Only 5-6 districts should be kept
In a special conversation with NDTV, the UDH minister said that the previous government had formed districts only for political gains. This is the reason why tehsil level areas have been declared districts in a hurry. It has been a year since the district was formed. But the administrative structure has not been built yet. The statement given by the BJP state president is absolutely correct and I want to take it further and say that only five or six districts should be kept so that the public can get the benefits of the districts. In these districts, all parameters including the distance of the last village should be decided and the administrative structure along with development should be built strongly.
