Karauli News Desk: After the increase in the bus fleet in Hindaun and Karauli depots of the district, there is a shortage of mechanics for repairs and daily maintenance. In the joint workshop of both the depots located at Hindaun, neither laptops have arrived nor mechanics have been appointed in different categories to check the faults in the high-tech buses. Only 24 personnel are employed in the workshop, while the bus fleet of the depot is more than 70. In such a situation, the buses are not being checked as per the standards. According to Roadways Depot sources, 20 posts of mechanical workers in various categories have been sanctioned for Karauli Depot from Roadways Headquarters and 100 posts of mechanical workers in various categories have been sanctioned for Hindaun Depot Workshop. But only 2 mechanics are employed in Karauli depot and 24 personnel are employed in Hindaun. Who repair and check buses in Hindaun depot in different shifts of day and night.
In the past months, due to the arrival of 15 new buses from the Roadways Headquarters and transfer of 9 buses from other depots, the number of buses in the Roadways Depot of the district has increased to 74. In such a situation, 26 mechanics divided into two shifts in the workshop are proving to be less. Whereas 45-50 buses come to the depot workshop in day and night shifts for daily checking before departure. Of these, about 41 buses are of BS-5 and BS-6 category. For testing which a laptop equipped with software of related technology is required.

Roadways There are 94 vacant posts of mechanics of various categories in the workshop of the depot. Among these, maximum 31 posts of Artisan III category are vacant. Whereas in mechanical personnel second category only 11 are employed as compared to 28 posts. As compared to 18 posts of First Class Mechanic, 5 are working and 13 are vacant. In such a situation, due to lack of thorough checking as per the standards before departure, the buses get breakdown on the way.roadways Of the depot’s fleet of 74 buses, 41 buses operate with sensor technology. To check it and find the fault, you just need a laptop with the company’s software. 15 BS-6 buses that recently arrived at the depot are under company guarantee. Whereas the 2020 model has crossed its expiry date of 26 years. In such a situation, these buses are repaired at the expense of the depot or in the central workshop of the roadways.
