India successfully tests long-range hypersonic missile

New Delhi, November 17 (IANS). The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has successfully test-fired a long-range hypersonic missile off the coast of Odisha.

On Sunday, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced this important achievement on the social media platform “X”. He said that this success has included India in the list of select countries which are capable of such advanced and complex military technology.

The test was conducted from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island, where senior scientists from DRDO and armed forces were present. The Defense Minister congratulated the armed forces and the industry for this achievement.

Rajnath Singh wrote in his ‘ Among the countries that have such advanced technology, I congratulate DRDO, the armed forces and the industry for this wonderful achievement.”

This hypersonic missile is capable of carrying various weapons to a range of more than 1,500 kilometers. This missile is completely indigenous and has been developed jointly by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex, Hyderabad and other DRDO laboratories and industry partners.

Due to the high speed of hypersonic missiles, it is very difficult for enemies to detect and stop them. This successful test has strengthened the country’s strategic capability and national security.
