New Delhi, December 3 (IANS). Mahantesh G, President of Cricket Association of Blind India (CABI). Kivadasannavar accused Pakistani media of creating “unnecessary confusion” by saying that India has been stripped of the rights to host the Blind Women’s T20 World Cup to be held in November next year.
Several Pakistani media outlets have reported that India’s hosting rights for the Blind Women’s T20 World Cup have been revoked, after the country decided ‘not to travel to Pakistan to participate in the ongoing Blind Men’s T20 World Cup’ Have done.
This comes amid the ongoing chaos for the Champions Trophy 2025, where the BCCI told the ICC that the Indian team will not travel to Pakistan after not getting clearance from the central government.
“This is wrong news. We won the hosting rights only last year. We have just discussed the functioning in the AGM. Pakistan has nothing to do with the Women’s World Cup,” Kiwadashannavar told IANS over phone. If the Indian government allows us to organize it in India, then it will be organized in India. Otherwise, we are exploring the possibility of hosting it in Nepal or Sri Lanka.”
During the 26th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) held in Multan, Pakistan on Monday, it was discussed that “India will host the first-ever Women’s T20 World Cup for the Blind in November 2025, with neutral “Venue or hybrid model will be used.”
Kivadasannavar said, “Pakistani media should keep their mouth shut and stop sharing wrong news. They should stop creating confusion because if it is so, then India will not invite Pakistan for any tournament including the World Cup. Will do.” Earlier, India had withdrawn its name from the fourth edition of the Men’s T20 Blind Cricket World Cup being played in Pakistan after it was unable to get approval from the Indian government for the team to travel to Pakistan.
