Indian Stock Market Rises for Third Consecutive Day, Sensex and Nifty Jump

New Delhi, June 7  : The domestic stock market is witnessing a continuous rally for the third consecutive day today. The day’s trading started on a flat note, but soon after the market opened, buyers gained momentum, pushing both the Sensex and Nifty indices higher. After the first hour of trading, the Sensex was trading 0.65 percent higher and the Nifty was up 0.61 percent.

Among the heavyweight stocks in the stock market, Wipro, L&T Mindtree, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, and Bajaj Finance were trading 5.05 percent to 2.86 percent higher after the first hour of trading. On the other hand, SBI Life Insurance, Bajaj Auto, ITC, Coal India, and Adani Enterprises were trading 1.46 percent to 0.16 percent lower.

So far in the day’s trading, 2,168 stocks were actively traded in the stock market. Of these, 1,816 stocks were trading in the green, while 352 stocks were trading in the red. Similarly, out of the 30 stocks in the Sensex, 25 were trading in the green on the back of buying support. On the other hand, 5 stocks were trading in the red under selling pressure. While 37 stocks in the Nifty were trading in the green and 13 stocks were trading in the red.

The BSE Sensex opened today at 75,031.79 points with a loss of 42.72 points. Soon after the market opened, buyers stepped in with buying, pushing the index into positive territory. Supported by continuous buying, the index rose over 600 points to reach 75,698.71 points. Amidst continuous buying and selling in the market, the Sensex was trading 487.04 points higher at 75,561.55 points after the first hour of trading at 10:15 AM.

Unlike the Sensex, the NSE Nifty started today’s trading at 22,821.85 points with a symbolic gain of 0.45 points. Soon after the market opened, buyers started buying from all sides, which accelerated the pace of this index. Supported by continuous buying, the index crossed the 23,000 mark. However, after that, it also saw a slight decline due to some selling. Amidst continuous buying and selling in the market, the Nifty was trading 139.50 points higher at 22,960.90 points after the first hour of trading at 10:15 AM.

Earlier, on the previous trading day, Thursday, the Sensex had closed 692.27 points or 0.93 percent higher at 75,074.51 points. The Nifty had ended Thursday’s trading at 22,821.40 points, up 201.05 points or 0.89 percent.
