Indira Gandhi changed not only history but also geography: Ashok Gehlot

Jaipur, November 19 (IANS). Senior Congress leader and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday remembered former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary. He said that Indira Gandhi was the only leader in Indian politics who changed not only history but also geography. But, nowadays some people, motivated by political malice, question their glorious history. I want to say to such people that they could not make their own history and today they are raising questions on the history of Indira Gandhi.

The former chief minister said, “Indira Gandhi was a great leader who had divided Pakistan into two pieces. He forced more than 90 thousand soldiers to surrender. The whole world was watching. He talked about eradicating poverty. “They have a long history.”

He said, “The present government is raising questions on his legacy. Well, there is democracy, so everything keeps changing here. Such people will never be able to make their own history. Indira Gandhi’s thinking has always been for the poor. Rahul Gandhi’s thinking is also in line with the same. In our country there is politics regarding the poor. But, no work is being done for the poor.”

He said, “People of different communities and religions live in our society. In such a situation, it becomes necessary for us to bring people of all religions together in a thread of unity and we have been doing this since the beginning, that is why we have been able to travel till here today. “

He said, “Indira Gandhi was the only leader whose strength the world respects. When we remember him today, we feel proud.”

Along with this, he also expressed his views about not getting pension.

He said that without any delay, the government should first give pension to all those people who are not getting pension. The oldest person in the house needs a pension.

Meanwhile, when Ashok Gehlot was asked about the political situation in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, he flatly refused to give any response.
