Sariska’s Anicut Overflow
After heavy rains in the Sariska valleys, there has been a heavy inflow of water in the Chhilon Anicut located in the Akbarpur Range. The upper part of the Anicut overflowed. Local people say that the Chhilon Anicut increases the groundwater level in many nearby villages. Last year, the Akbarpur Gram Panchayat had built this Anicut under MNREGA. Since this Anicut is situated in the middle of the mountains, it receives plenty of water. The Anicut overflowed after the rains. The arrival of water in other Anicuts in the Sariska area will greatly benefit the wildlife.
