Chandigarh, November 29 (IANS). On Friday, a protest was organized by Vaishnav Priyagorang Das and Gaudiya Math against the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.
Protester Vaishnav Priyagorang Das said, “We are protesting here because Hindus are continuously being attacked in Bangladesh. Apart from this, ISKCON devotees are also being targeted. Mothers are being tortured there. Houses of Hindu brothers are being demolished, their houses are being burnt. Hindu families are being targeted. Injustice is being done to Hindus in Bangladesh, which cannot be accepted at any cost. It is absolutely justified to express anger against such an incident, that is why today we all have gathered here to express our anger against this incident.”
He further said, “We have gathered here to protect the values of humanity. It is sad that peace loving people are being targeted. There ISKCON has been working in the interest of the people for the last 50 years. ISKCON has made an invaluable contribution towards social welfare, which should be acknowledged.”
He said, “Whenever any natural disaster has occurred in Bangladesh, ISKCON has been at the forefront. Despite this, the way our people are being targeted there is condemnable.”
He said, “All the international organizations including the Indian government should appeal to the Bangladesh government to stop the way Hindus are being targeted.”
He said, “Just as people of Muslim community live peacefully in India, in the same way people of other minority communities including Hindus should live peacefully in Bangladesh. The Indian government should take steps in this direction.”
It is noteworthy that people of Hindu community are being continuously targeted in Bangladesh. Apart from this, their religious places are also being attacked. The Government of India has expressed objection regarding this.
Many enlightened people of the society have written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard, demanding a stop to the violence against the people of Hindu community in Bangladesh.
