Bikaner : Bikaner closed at 6.15 pm on Friday evening. Kotgate and Sankhla Gate railway crossings remained closed for more than a quarter of an hour. The gates of the railway crossing, which were closed to allow the train running from Barmer to Rishikesh, opened after about 25 minutes even after the train passed. Due to the closure of the railway crossing, there was traffic jam on both sides of Coatgate for about 500-500 meters till Railway Station Road. The children stuck in this jam had to face a lot of difficulties. Due to the railway crossing remaining closed even after the train passed, the people stuck in the crossing tried to ask the gate man but he said that he did not have information. During this time, Congress leader Sanjay Acharya, who was standing in the jam, said, it is the misfortune of Bikaner that the underpass was approved here during the Congress rule but could not be built due to the opposition of the traders here. After the gate opened, there was jam on these roads for about 10 minutes.
During this time, there was no traffic police personnel to control the traffic. When the railway officials were asked the reason for the closure of the railway crossing gate, they told that their interlocking system failed after the crossing gate was closed. When an attempt was made to open the gate after the vehicle passed, it was found that the interlocking system had failed. After this the operating staff came and corrected the system. During this time it took about 22 minutes.
The train going from Barmer to Rishikesh reached Bikaner railway station 80 minutes late.
