Jaipur : All the teams are focusing on strengthening their squad in the ongoing IPL 2025 auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals have also opened their account in the mega auction. The team had already retained its 6 players. After this, the team that entered the auction bought its first player most late. Rajasthan has till now fully utilized the maximum budget of Rs 79 crores. After this, the franchise will enter the auction with a purse of only Rs 41 crore, in which it has to buy 19 more players.
Archer returns to the team
In this mega auction of IPL, Rajasthan has again bought England fast bowler Joffra Archer. Archer was bought by Rajasthan at a huge price of Rs 12.50 crore. With this, Archer has returned to the Rajasthan team after 2021. Along with this, Rajasthan has bought spinner Mahish Teekshana for Rs 4 crore 40 lakh and has made leg spinner Wanendu Hasaranga a part of the team by paying Rs 5 crore 25 lakh.
6 players were retained first
This time BCCI had given 6 retention or right to match options to all the franchises. In which Rajasthan had retained 6 players even before the auction. In which the team included Sanju Samson (18 crore), Yashasvi Jaiswal (18 crore), Riyan Parag (14 crore), Dhruv Jural (14 crore), Shimron Hetmyer (11 crore) and Sandeep Sharma (4 crore). With this, he had prepared the foundation of his team in Rajasthan’s IPL.
