It is not possible for Jaipur government to provide budget, resources and staff.

Preparations to hand over Jaipur : Ayushman Tower (earlier IPD) on PPD mode have been completed. Reason…Government is not in a position to provide the necessary budget, resources, and staff for the operation of Ayushman Tower. Although the government is building it by spending around Rs 600 crore, it requires around Rs 100 crore every month for its operation. In such a situation, it has been decided to give it on PPP mode. Its work started during the rule of Congress government.

It has become a tower of ‘controversies’ since day one.

IPD Tower has been in controversies since the beginning. Even doctors did not agree about this. He said that a bigger hospital could be built with such a high budget. Questions were also raised regarding the expenditure incurred on the foundation stone laying ceremony (about more than one crore rupees). Also issues like height of IPD tower, affecting the beauty of Albert Hall and need of helicopter were also raised. Even parking facility was not provided in such a big hospital, yet it was decided to spend Rs 200 crore for parking and other works in the tower.

Rs 200 crores are needed only for the equipment.

Even after the IPD Tower building is erected, equipment worth at least Rs 200 crore is required to fully operate it. There will be an expenditure of Rs 100 crore every month for maintenance, doctors, nursing staff and other staff. Apart from this, free medicines and expenses of admitted patients will be incurred separately. To avoid this expense and the responsibility of running the hospital, the government is going to give it in PPP.
