Jaipur : Even though winter has not shown its colors in Jaipur, many airports of the country have started being guarded by fog. Due to this, flight operations have started getting disrupted. The big thing in this is that in the last few years, Jaipur Airport is proving to be the most reliable in North India in handling diverted flights. Because Jaipur is the only airport where landing of aircraft is possible in 50 meter runway visibility. Apart from this, there is a total parking capacity of 36 aircraft here simultaneously. Earlier there was a parking capacity for 17 aircraft, it can accommodate aircraft up to category C and E. Category C i.e. Airbus 320 or Boeing 737 aircraft, in which 165 to 220 passengers can travel. A year ago, 19 new parking ways were started at Jaipur Airport. Now it has parking capacity for 36 aircraft.
Last year 347 flights were diverted and reached Jaipur airport.
A senior official of Jaipur Airport said that Jaipur Airport is capable of withstanding the diversion of all its nearby airports. During winter, most of the airports in North India are affected by fog. During this period, Jaipur Airport is the only airport where the effect of fog is very less. At the same time, landing and takeoff of aircraft is possible here even in extremely low visibility. Last year, 347 flights reached Jaipur airport through diversion. This year also, Jaipur Airport administration has completed preparations for such diversion.
This month 16 flights were diverted in 3 days
It is noteworthy that on November 13, due to fog at Delhi Airport, landing of planes was disrupted, so in just one hour, 9 flights were diverted and reached Jaipur. On 14th, two flights going to Ghaziabad and Jammu reached Jaipur. There was fog at Lucknow and Chandigarh airports early Friday morning. In such a situation, 3 flights from Lucknow and 2 from Chandigarh got diverted and reached Jaipur. In this way, in the last 3 days, 16 flights have been diverted and reached Jaipur.
