Jaipur Dehradun flight engine fails at 18 thousand feet height, creates panic

Jaipur News Desk: An engine of Indigo Airlines flight (6E-7468) of Jaipur-Dehradun failed at 18 thousand feet. There were 70 passengers in the flight. The plane made an emergency landing at Delhi airport. The plane remained in the air for about 30 minutes with a faulty engine. According to airport sources, the incident occurred around 7 pm on Tuesday evening.

Actually, the Indigo Airlines flight was to take off for Dehradun at 5:55 pm from Jaipur Airport on November 19, but due to technical reasons, the plane took off for Dehradun at 6:35 pm, 40 minutes behind schedule. About 25 minutes later, the plane’s engine malfunctioned. The pilot contacted Air Delhi’s Traffic Control System (ATC) and asked for permission to make an emergency landing. After about 30 minutes, ATC Delhi gave permission for emergency landing.

Passengers sent to Dehradun on another flight

The flight landed safely at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport at around 8:10 pm. During this time the passenger remained breathing heavily. All the passengers were brought safely to the airport terminal. Then they were sent to Dehradun on another flight. Delhi airport officials said that Indigo’s Jaipur-Dehradun flight 6E-7468 was diverted to Delhi after its ATR turboprop aircraft (VT-IRA) suffered an engine failure. Indigo Airlines officials said that flight 6E-7468 from Jaipur to Dehradun was diverted to Delhi due to a technical problem.
