Jaipur : The work of delimitation of 158 urban bodies (Municipal Corporation, Municipality, Municipal Council) will start in Jaipur state from December. Issuing an order on Friday, the state government has ordered to prepare a draft of delimitation of these bodies and send it to the government by February 8. The big thing is that the delimitation of wards in these bodies will be done as per the old census i.e. the year 2011 only. According to the orders issued from the Directorate of Autonomous Government, there are 49 urban bodies in the state whose tenure is ending this month. There are more than 100 urban bodies which have been newly formed and their tenure is going to end by December. These urban bodies were upgraded from Panchayats to Municipal Corporations. According to the orders issued by the government, the district election officers will have to start the delimitation work from December 1 and its first draft plan will have to be prepared and published by December 30.
Same police station in one ward area
During demarcation, care will be taken that no ward falls under the jurisdiction of more than one police station area or Deputy Commissioner of Police. One ward will fall under only one police station area. Similarly, the assembly constituency will also be kept in mind, so that the boundary of any ward does not fall in more than one assembly constituency.
20 wards will be created for population up to 15 thousand
20 wards will be created in the civic area where the population is less than 15 thousand. Similarly, in the bodies having population between 15 to 25 thousand, 25 wards will be created, whereas in the bodies with population more than 25 thousand and up to 40 thousand, there will be 35 wards.
Similarly, 40 wards will be created in bodies with population of 40 to 60 thousand, 45 wards in bodies with population of 60 to 80 thousand, and 55 wards in bodies with population of 80 thousand to one lakh. 60 wards will be created in bodies with population of one to two lakh, 65 wards in bodies with population of 2 to 3.50 lakh, and 70 wards in bodies with population of 3.50 to 5 lakh. 80 wards in bodies with population between 5 to 10 lakh, 100 wards in bodies with population between 10 to 13 lakh, 110 wards in bodies with population between 13 to 15 lakh, 130 wards in bodies with population between 15 to 25 lakh. 150 wards will be created in wards and bodies with population between 25 to 35 lakh.
State Election Commission started preparations
This week, the State Election Commission has also written a letter to all the District Election Officers and ordered them to start the work of preparing the voter list keeping in mind the upcoming civic elections. For this, all the District Election Officers have been asked to prepare a list of those collecting data within a week and put them on duty.
