Jaipur : Jaipur DGGI Jaipur Zonal Unit has detected GST evasion of Rs 16.90 crore. The agent of the insurance company has been arrested in the case. The mastermind agent was carrying out GST evasion by issuing fake bills through 5 firms. After presenting him in the court on behalf of DGGI, he has been sent to JC. DGGI Jaipur zonal unit officials arrested Parvez resident of Bikaner on the basis of intelligence. As an agent of an insurance company, Parvez used to do policy booking work. 18 percent GST was levied on the commission received in exchange for the policy.
Make bills by forming a firm for GST evasion
GST was being evaded by Parvez by issuing fake bills. Parvez created a firm and made bills for GST evasion in the name of M/s 24X7 Insurance Solutions. Along with this, he formed 4 more firms in the name of his employees and family members to provide insurance services to the firms located in Delhi and NCR.
Fake input tax credit worth Rs 16.90 crore was availed from all the fake firms formed by Parvez. DGGI Jaipur zonal unit officials, acting on intelligence, recorded statements of master mind Parvez and owners of firms formed by Parvez on Saturday-Sunday. During interrogation, Parvez admitted evasion of GST of Rs 16.90 crore by making bills from 5 firms. Taking action on behalf of DGGI, accused Parvez was arrested on Monday and sent to JC. DGGI has expressed the fear that many big cases will be exposed by taking such action in the insurance services sector in the future. Further investigation is being done by the department in the matter.
