Jaipur : As soon as winter starts, fog has started showing its effect. These days, due to fog in the northern states of the country, many trains passing through North Western Railway are running late instead of running on time, due to which the passengers are facing a lot of inconvenience. Rail traffic is being badly affected due to link rack delays, and many important trains are departing hours behind schedule.
Captain Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, said – Fog has affected the railway operations in the areas of northern states like UP, Bihar, Bengal, Jharkhand. The operation of trains was affected due to delay in arrival of link racks of many trains coming from these states. The effect of fog is also visible in many areas of North Western Railway in the morning. In view of the fog, many trains will also be canceled in the coming times. Some daily running trains may also be canceled from time to time.
At present, train number 12988, Ajmer-Sealdah Express, which was scheduled to depart on 18 November 2024 at 12:50 pm, will now run with a delay of 5 hours at 5:50 pm. Similarly, train number 05538, Daurai-Darbhanga special has also been departed with a delay of 7 hours at 6:45 am on 18 November 2024.
Train No. 12968, Jaipur-Chennai Express, was delayed by 7 hours at 2:35 pm on 18 November 2024 instead of its scheduled time of 7:35 pm on 17 November 2024. Earlier also, train number 12988, Ajmer-Sealdah Express had departed at 16:15 hrs on 17th November with a delay of 3 hours 25 minutes. Similarly, train number 05098, Daurai-Tanakpur Special also departed at the scheduled time of 16:15 hrs on 16th November. Instead of 05 o’clock, it left with a delay of 2 hours 55 minutes at 19:00 pm. Captain Shashi Kiran said – Link Rack Trains are being affected due to the delay. Efforts are being made by the Railways to take necessary steps to improve the situation soon. We appeal to the passengers to check the train status before traveling to avoid this inconvenience.
