Jaipur : Jaipur As soon as the cold wave started, Greater and Heritage Corporation has started three temporary night shelters in the city. In the Greater Corporation area, two temporary shelter sites with a capacity of 100 beds each have been opened under Maharani Farm Pulia and Triveni Pulia and Heritage Corporation has opened them under Hasanpura Pulia. Moti Dungri Ganeshji Temple Trust has started distributing food in these night shelters from Tuesday. Temple Mahant Kailash Sharma said that 500 packets of food have been sent to the corporation. Apart from night shelters, food packets were also distributed at other places.
Let us tell you that there are 7 permanent night shelters in the city, which run throughout the year. Of these, five are in heritage and 2 in greater area. Apart from this, 14 night shelters run temporarily in winter in both the corporations. Nodal officer Shyam Lal Jangid said that the Greater Municipal Corporation has started two out of 10 night shelters. 8 shelters in Greater and three more in Heritage area will be made operational from December 15.
More will open here: Malviyanagar in Greater Corporation, outside JK Lone Hospital, Ramniwas Bagh, Gandhinagar, near railway station, 200 feet bypass, Vidyadhar Nagar, near Bajri Mandi. Heritage Corporation Revenue Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Singh said that three more night shelters will be started in the Heritage Corporation area from December 15. These shelter sites will open under Transport Nagar culvert, under Khasa Kothi culvert, Parmanand Hall, Sahakar Marg C-Scheme, while a 50-bed shelter has been opened under Hasanpura culvert.
