Jaipur : Jaipur Heritage Corporation will now earn from waste also. The path has been cleared for this ambitious project of the corporation. For this, an agreement has also been signed between Jindal Group and the government undertaking. According to the information, the trial run of the plant is scheduled for this month. Full operation is expected within this financial year itself. The objective behind this initiative of the government is that this project will not only dispose of the waste but will also contribute to sustainable energy production in Jaipur.
Jindal company will operate the project
An MOU was signed between the officials of the Corporation, Jindal Group and Power Finance Corporation for the project. Jindal Group will invest approximately Rs 350 crore to run the project. Also, for its operation, Power Finance Corporation Limited, a Government of India undertaking, will provide a loan facility of Rs 192 crore.
1 thousand tons of waste will be disposed every day
For this, the corporation has prepared the complete outline. Heritage Corporation will dispose of 1000 tonnes of waste daily, which will be used in energy production. With this, the corporation will get a royalty of Rs 66 per ton, that is, the corporation will get an income of about Rs 20 lakh every month and more than Rs 2 crore annually. Apart from income, there will be double benefit by producing 15 MW electricity per day. During the signing of the MoU, apart from the corporation officials, Finance Director of Jindal Group Pranay Kumar, Lisa Ray of Power Finance Corporation Limited and other officials were also present.
