Jaipur : If the electricity consumers of Jaipur state deposit the outstanding amount of disconnected connections by December 2023 in lump sum by December 31, 2024, they will get exemption in interest and penalty. Amnesty scheme has been implemented in government electricity corporations. This scheme is applicable for all categories of consumers. For this the consumer will have to apply in the Assistant Engineer’s office.
Managing Director of Jaipur Discom, Aarti Dogra said that under this scheme, consumers can also get the electricity connection connected by depositing the outstanding amount, under which the disconnected connections of agricultural category consumers will be connected as per the prevailing provisions of the agricultural policy, while those of other categories will be connected. The connections of the consumers will be connected as per the provisions of TCOS-2021. He said that the benefit of the amnesty scheme will be available only to those consumers who have not availed the benefit of such schemes in the last 3 years and have not availed electricity. Cases of theft and misuse will not be included under this. Along with this, if the case related to the electricity bill amount is pending in the court, the benefit of the scheme will be payable only if the consumer submits an affidavit of withdrawal of the case from the court within a month. Discom management has appealed that they Take maximum advantage of the facility given by the government to deposit the electricity dues without interest and penalty. It is noteworthy that the amnesty scheme is applicable for the consumers of the three electricity distribution corporations of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Ajmer.
