Jaipur : Jaipur Department’s claim – more DAP than last year: Addy of Agriculture Department. Director Dr. Suvalal Jat says that more DAP, SSP, NPK and urea are being supplied to the farmers than last year. Licenses of black marketeers are being cancelled.
The minister wrote a letter to the Centre:
Agriculture Minister Kirodilal Meena said that he had written a letter to Union Minister JP Nadda. Was informed about the shortage of DAP. At present more stock is available than the previous government. Farmers will not be allowed to face any problem. Queues all night… Tokens finished in an hour: Rack of 1625 tonnes of DAP reached Baran. For this, farmers sat in queues throughout the night covered with bedding, quilts and blankets. But, the demand was such that the tokens were exhausted in about an hour. More than half of the farmers had to return empty handed.
This is the complete mathematics of fertilizer
{Allocation of 2.80 lakh metric tonnes of DAP was received which is very less.
{In this also only about 2 lakh metric tons were found. After distribution only 44078 metric tonnes of stock was left.
{9.20 lakh metric tonnes of urea is allocated, but only 4.60 lakh metric tonnes was received. In this also 3.47 lakh metric tonnes is in stock.
The Agriculture Department says that up to 80 percent of the quantity of DAP is imported. Due to the Arab-Israeli war, containers have to travel through long routes around the African continent. Due to this, transportation is taking 45 days. At the same time, a virtual shortage has also arisen due to black marketing.
Jaipur/Baran/Kota The food provider again has to worry about DAP and urea. In the extreme cold, first standing in queues all night long for tokens, then getting pushed at the distribution centre. Sometimes half the people did not get the token and sometimes they had to return empty handed from the shop. There were fights, tug-of-war in the crowd, police raining batons. Be it Baran or Bhilwara, Sriganganagar or Hanumangarh, Kota, Deeg, Bikaner or Jaipur… the situation is similar everywhere.
The Agriculture Department is citing delay in supply as the reason for this due to the Israel war. But, the result is that the target is to sow 119 lakh hectares of Rabi crops in the state, and so far sowing has been done only in about half (57%) i.e. 68 lakh hectares. The target is to sow 40 lakh hectares of mustard, 32 lakh hectares of wheat and 22 lakh hectares of gram, but mustard has been sown in 30 lakh hectares and wheat has been sown in 12 lakh hectares. Last year, Rabi crop was sown in 112.71 lakh hectares.
How long will they wait for fertilizer?
This is Chhabra, a subdivision area of Baran. Here, on receiving information about fertilizer distribution, farmers had to stand in queues in the playground of the Government Higher Secondary School throughout the night. Then in the morning the Agriculture Department distributed tokens to the farmers.
