Jaipur : 16 days later, the police revealed the incident of theft of mobiles, iPads and Mac-books worth Rs 1.80 crore from the mobile shop hot spot in the early hours of 6th November near Panchavati Circle in Rajapark, Jaipur. Four thieves and one buyer were arrested and the mobiles recovered. After stealing in Jaipur, it reached Indore at 6 pm and from there to Mumbai at 9:30 pm, mobiles worth Rs 1.80 crore were sold for only Rs 40 lakh. Gireh’s miscreants used to steal valuable new mobiles from across the country and send them to Bangladesh, Nepal and from there to Pakistan. These mobiles were sent to Kolkata by courier to send them to Bangladesh. Jaipur Police checked about 300 CCTV footage and collected information from about 30 informers from Dewas, Indore, Ujjain, Mumbai. Besides, by examining more than a thousand call details, using cyber tools and apps, they obtained information about the accused and exposed the case.
The incident took place due to a 10 year old contact
Shop owner Ramindra Makhija had a mobile shop in Indore 10 years ago. Safan Khan used to work there. Ramindra had posted the photos and price of the new iPhone that arrived at the shop in WhatsApp groups. Gireh’s Safan, being an old acquaintance, was also connected to their WhatsApp groups. He got information about new mobiles and planned to buy it. After coming to Jaipur, he raided the shop.
Phones worth Rs 1.80 crore were sold for Rs 40 lakh
Commissioner Biju George Joseph said that the accused Safan Khan (30) resident of Badwani Madhya Pradesh Hall tenant Juni- Indore, Rambharose Patel (27) resident of Khareli-Dewas Madhya Pradesh Hall Mahalaxmi Nagar Indore, Jatin Hada Kanjar (18) and Rajesh alias Khanna alias Mama Kanjar. (45) resident Kanjar Dera Tonk Khurd Dewas MP, Sameer Ahmed Shaikh (38) resident Shivajinagar. Gavandi Mumbai Hall Kharghar Mumbai has been arrested.
Another accused Aman is being searched. Rambharose Patel and Safan Khan included Mama Kanjar and Jatin Kanjar and Aman in the gang. Even before the incident, he had contacted Sameer Ahmed in Mumbai after planning to sell Cheri’s mobiles. Only after that he came to Jaipur to commit crimes. These mobiles were recovered from the accused
Gireh was caught from MP number car. DCP East Tejaswani Gaitam said that after finding a stolen bike in Gadota on Ajmer Road, the CCTV cameras of the highway were searched. After getting the CCTV footage of the MP number car, the investigation turned out to be of Indore. The car owner said that he had booked the taxi on rent through Rambharose Rental App. After this the police took his ID, through which the accused was identified. After coming from Indore, he left the car near Gadota and stole a bike. Came to Jaipur to visit Chari on this bike.
EMI of new mobile cannot be tracked
Since new stolen mobiles are being used for the first time in Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan, the EMI numbers of the mobiles are in the name of the person who bought them there. Indian police cannot track the EMI number as it is linked to the local mobile service provider company. Due to this, there is a demand for expensive mobiles in these countries. They would buy mobiles from local vendors and sell them at 30 to 40 percent cheaper prices.
