Jaipur : Jaipur Rajasthan government has prepared the draft of the new youth policy 2024. Rajasthan Youth Board, Youth Affairs and Sports Department has now invited suggestions on this policy from the general public. However, many flaws are visible in this draft. In particular, this policy ignores the youth who contribute to the society and take government schemes to the people. Youth awarded with National Youth Award, National and State Award winning volunteers of National Service Scheme, Scout Guides, NCC, Red Ribbon Club volunteers etc. There is no mention of youth and women’s clubs of Nehru Yuva Kendra and the youth of National Youth Corp. All these youth are working for public awareness and change in the society through Nehru Yuva Kendras at school, college and village level. Are working towards. But the State Youth Board does not have any plan to encourage them.

Youth awarded at national and state level should be included in government jobs under sports quota and they should be given bonus points.
National award winners should be given social monthly pension.
On the lines of Maharashtra Government, free facilities should be provided in Circuit House and DTDC Guest House.
Participation of youth should be ensured in various committees of the districts and the state.
Free health insurance scheme should be implemented on the lines of RGHS.
A special incentive scheme should be made for self-employment and setting up industries.
Free land should be allotted for opening schools and colleges in rural areas.
Youth say that many specific youth groups have not been included in the draft of this policy and most of the points have been included as budget announcements.

Only bus pass facility for youth
No formal meetings were held with youth representatives before preparing this draft. The government has provided bus pass facility to the youth. Formal meetings involving national award winning youth and other youth organizations are essential for the welfare of youth. These should be organized by the Principal Secretary of the State Youth Board, so that government schemes can reach the villages through the youth.
