Jaipur : Jaipur Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have two visits to Jaipur this month. The first visit will take place on 9 December. On this day Modi will inaugurate the Rising Rajasthan Global Summit at Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre. He will also address the inaugural session. The state government is organizing a three-day summit with the aim of increasing investment in the state. PM’s second visit will be on December 17. In this, Modi will lay the foundation stone of the state government’s ambitious scheme ‘Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project’ (PKC-ERCP). PM Modi’s program for Rajasthan has been made after about 7 months. Earlier in the Lok Sabha elections, Modi had addressed a public meeting in Tonk on 23 April. At the same time, PM Modi’s meeting was held in Kotputli, Jaipur on 2 April.
Will lay the foundation stone of PKC-ERCP
At the same time, on December 17, PM Modi will hold a public meeting in Dadiya, Sanganer. On this occasion, Modi will lay the foundation stone of PKC-ERCP. This project will provide drinking and irrigation water to 21 districts of the state. Most of the districts in this project are from Eastern Rajasthan. In the Assembly elections-2023, Congress had raised the issue of declaring ERCP as a national project. The then Gehlot government had also made a provision of a budget of about Rs 9 thousand crore for ERCP. As soon as the government changed in the state, CM Bhajanlal Sharma signed an MoU regarding this project with Madhya Pradesh under the mediation of the Jal Shakti Ministry. Even before the assembly by-elections, the government wanted PM Modi to lay the foundation stone of the project. This could not happen due to the code of conduct.
What is ERCP?
The blueprint of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project was prepared in the year 2017 during the second term of former Chief Minister of the state Vasundhara Raje. It is said that this project is his contribution. Under this, a plan was prepared to connect Parvati, Chambal and Kalisindh rivers. Through this, Jaipur, Jhalawar, Baran, Kota, Bundi, Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Tonk, Dausa, Karauli, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Gangapur of Eastern Rajasthan. City, Beawar, Kekri, Dudu, Kotputli-Behror, Khairthal-Tijara, Deeg and Jaipur Rural are facing water crisis. Will get relief. Along with drinking water, farmers will also be able to get the water they need for irrigation.
Came twice in a month even in January
Even in the beginning of the year 2024, PM Modi came to Jaipur twice in a month. Modi stayed in Jaipur from 5 to 7 January due to the DG-IG conference held in Jaipur. During this time, he also reached the state BJP office for the first time after becoming the Prime Minister. Here PM Modi also had dinner with ministers, MLAs and party officials. After this, Modi reached Jaipur with French President Emmanuel Macron on 25 January. During this, Modi also did a road show with Macron in the city walls.
