Jaipur : Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Jaipur Police Headquarters and Narcotics Bureau team caught 227 kg of ganja in a truck at Ochhadi toll naka of Chittorgarh on Madhya Pradesh-Rajasthan border. The value of the seized ganja is said to be more than Rs 1.14 crore. ADG Dinesh MN said that truck driver Shyamlal Sharma, resident of Gangrar, was arrested late on Sunday night. The accused driver had brought ganja from Visakhapatnam in the guise of nursery plants and mustard seeds and was to supply it in Chittorgarh, Bhilwara and Pushkar. The driver had driven the truck 1600 kilometers without stopping. A month ago, the AGTF team had received information about a large quantity of ganja being supplied to Rajasthan from Visakhapatnam. Since then the team was keeping an eye on the drug smugglers. When the accused Shyamlal reached Ratlam, the AGTF team chased him.
Truck stopped before Rajasthan border
ADG MN told that accused Shyamlal parked the truck on the roadside and waited for darkness before entering the Rajasthan border. The chasing team then informed Chittorgarh Narcotics Bureau. The accused reached Ochhadi toll point at night, when the AGTF team and the Narcotics Bureau team caught him. On searching the truck, packets of 5 kg 500 grams of ganja were found.
