Jaipur public transport will run with 300 CNG and 175 electric buses.

Jaipur : A big plan is being made to overcome the shortage of public transport in the capital Jaipur. The fleet of low-floor buses is being increased by JCTSL (Jaipur City Transport Services Limited) and 475 new buses are getting ready to run on the city roads for the next year. This includes the purchase of 300 CNG and 175 electric buses. Due to which the total number of buses in Jaipur will cross 500. However, by next year 100 buses will also become condoms. At present only 200 buses are running. In such a situation, JCTSL has expedited the procurement process of buses. Tenders for 300 CNG buses will be issued in January.

Auto rickshaw will solve the problem

In view of the shortage of buses, a plan is now being made to increase the number of auto rickshaws. Recently the Transport Department has increased the permits for LPG-CNG auto rickshaws to 6,000. After this, 35,000 auto rickshaws will be able to operate in the city, which will help in reducing the shortage of buses to some extent. Ideally, 1,500 low-floor buses are needed for the capital’s population of around 50 lakh, but currently only Only 200 buses are operating. Due to this shortage, passengers have to wait for half an hour at the bus stop. In the year 2013, 400 buses used to run here, which has now reduced to 200. Due to this shortage, the number of bus routes in the city has also reduced. Now instead of 35 routes, buses are running only on 25 routes.

Mathematics of JCTSL Buses

280 buses were purchased in 2011, which became obsolete in 2020.

120 buses purchased in 2013, which became obsolete in March 2023.

A total of 200 new buses arrived in 2016 and 2020, which are currently operating.

300 electric buses are to come, which have not arrived yet.

200 buses are operating.

1.50 lakh passengers travel.

There should have been 1500 buses as per the population.
