Jaipur : The dream of Jaipur Railways to provide cheap and nutritious food to the passengers traveling in general coaches is proving to be just a fraud at Jaipur Junction Railway Station. Passengers sometimes get the benefit of the cheap meal scheme, sometimes not. Many times they are forced to buy food at expensive prices. When the reporter went to the station and tried to know the reality of this plan, what came out was shocking.
Partial facilities for passengers: To provide affordable food, the Railways is setting up stalls only in one section, whereas most trains have general coaches both at the front and rear. In such a situation, partial facilities are being provided.

Especially the passengers traveling in long distance trains faced the problem of not getting good quality and cheap food. For this reason, Railways had started this scheme for general coach passengers.

This Two types of menus were prescribed under the scheme. First, a meal worth Rs 20 consisting of 7 puris (175 grams), dry potato curry (150 grams) and pickle (12 grams) was to be provided in a paper box. Second, a combo pack of Rs 50 which included regional dishes like Rajma, Chole-Chawal, Kulche-Chole, Chole-Bhatura, Pav Bhaji etc., which weighed 350 grams. Apart from this, packed glasses of 200 ml water were also to be made available at the price of Rs 3.
