Jaipur : Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget in the House on Tuesday. Many gifts have been given to Jaipur in the first full budget of Modi 3.0 tenure. Although these announcements were not made directly. But the central government has given the green signal to many projects in the budget. Due to which the capital Jaipur is going to benefit a lot.
Water projects will get a boost
In the budget, it has been announced to promote water management projects in partnership with the state government and multilateral development banks (foreign banks). This will provide drinking water to more than 500 inhabited areas of Jaipur which are deprived of drinking water. Along with providing relief from contaminated drinking water in the remaining squares of the wall, new pipelines can be laid to provide drinking water to the people as per the current need.
Another pipeline can also be laid to bring water from Bisalpur to Jaipur. The way to bring water to Ramgarh Dam has also become easier. The Asian Games rowing competition was also held in the dam. Financial assistance will be available after the DPR of the projects is prepared.
Customs duty on gold and silver reduced
There was no direct announcement for Jaipur in the budget, but reducing the customs duty on gold and silver will definitely give wings to Jaipur’s trade. The customs duty on gold and silver has been reduced to 6%. Apart from this, the customs duty on gold and silver bars has been reduced from 15% to 6%. On the other hand, it has also been reduced from 14.35% to 5.35% on gold and silver door. With this decision, traders are expecting an increase of about 25% in business in the upcoming monsoon.
Traffic will be smooth
Transport-oriented development plans have been announced in the central budget. This is expected to boost public transport on the main roads of the capital. Experts believe that under this plan, Jaipur Metro and city bus services will also be expanded. The expansion of the metro has not been directly mentioned in the budget. The center has already said that it will support the state government for the upcoming project. People living around the city will be able to use public transport more. Plans will be prepared with implementation and financing strategies for 14 big cities with a population of more than 30 lakh.
