Jaipur Students’ notes, books and laptops seized, locked in library for 3 months, upset

Jaipur News Desk: In the library located in the basement of Gopalpura, Tonk Road, which was seized by Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation on July 30, students’ notes, books and laptops, tablets etc. are also locked inside. Due to this, students are troubled for the last 3 months and 20 days. These students are coming here from outside and preparing for competitive exams like UPSC, RPSC (RAS) etc. He says that without books and notes we are not able to study. Even the coaching courses of the students who have come from outside Jaipur and other places of the state have been completed, but they are not able to go to their homes.

He also reached the corporation office with a request to get his books and notes etc. Here we have appealed to the local councilor and the police station also. The councilor gave assurance, but the goods were not found. Whereas the police station sent him back saying that it was not his case. Let us tell you that the Greater Corporation Administration had seized these libraries which were running against the rules on July 30 after the death of three students of the library there due to rain water filling the basement. “Legally we cannot open the seized libraries. Only DLB can do it. Still, we are looking at how to give their books, notes and laptops etc.”

Case 1- Student Rakesh Jat told that when the library was being seized, my books, notes etc. were left inside. I am preparing for UPSC and RAS. My course in coaching was completed. Still not able to go home (Bhilwara). There are two exams coming up, but with whom to revise? Left the September test series also due to lack of books and notes. On complaint they say that they will remove it in a day or two, but no hearing is taking place.

Case 2- Student Gautam Pareek told that after coming from Sambhar, I am preparing for UPSC here. My books, notes and my friend Rahul’s laptop are also locked in the library.

Case 3- Student Kishan Bunkar told that the belongings of 200-300 students are left inside all the three libraries. We have neither books nor notes. It is true that these libraries were not running as per the rules and regulations.
