Jaipur : Jaipur Tourists coming to Rajasthan from India and abroad and spending Rs 50 to 500 to see the world famous monuments of the state are facing many problems. These problems include dirt on the monuments, terror of the people, parking problem and lack of basic facilities like shade and water. This is the reason that in the first seven months of the current financial year, the number of tourists coming to see the monuments of the state has increased by 13%. Percentage has declined. While more than 4 crore tourists visited these 33 monuments in 2023, their number has come down to 3 crore 47 lakh in the seven months of the financial year 2024. Tourists come from far and wide to see the world famous Amer Palace but surprisingly The thing is that from April to October this year, the number of tourists visiting Amer Palace has decreased by more than 2.5 lakh. The main reason for this is the lack of parking in Amer Palace and tourists getting stuck in traffic for hours. Similarly, the situation is not good in other major monuments like Hawa Mahal, Albert Hall, Nahargarh.
60 crores annually Earnings of Rs., no facilities
Chittaurgarh Fort: Tourists angry with dirt in Padmini Mahal
Foreign tourists who came to see Chittorgarh Fort before Diwali were also troubled. Seeing the dirt in the toilets of Padmini Mahal, tourists had to put handkerchiefs on their noses. Many tourists left the palace leaving the tour midway.
Another shocking fact is that the government is earning more than Rs 60 crore annually from the tickets issued at these monuments. Despite this, when it comes to the safety of tourists and enhancing basic facilities, the responsible officials of the government and the archeology department remain silent.
I am continuously demanding to increase the basic facilities like cleanliness, safety of tourists, parking, shade and water at the monuments. I appeal to the government to take seriously the decline in the number of tourists at the monuments and increase these facilities as soon as possible.
